Hello everyone,
Our next Books & Booze session is approaching, and this time we’re travelling back in time. On Thursday, the 10th of April, we will discuss 11/22/63 by Stephen King.
In this not-so-light holiday read (it is King, after all), we follow Jake Epping as he steps through a portal to 1958 with one mission: prevent the assassination of John F. Kennedy. As always in a Stephen King novel, things are never that simple. The past is stubborn, history pushes back, and apparently even time itself has a bit of a temper. As always, during the book’s discussion, we’ll pour you something strong — to keep in the spirit of the book and its author, and of course to celebrate that you’ve survived the page count!
Given that spring is finally around the corner, we thought it fitting to pick a novel about second chances, big decisions, and the eternal question: if you could change the past, would you? And more importantly for our purposes: how many drinks would it take to come up with a better plan than Jake’s?
So, dear members and friends: join us for cocktails and a lively (and possibly slightly conspiratorial) discussion of 11/22/63 on Friday, the 10th of April, at 17:00 at Walter’s Bookshop.
