Dear alumni!
We kindly invite you to join us on Saturday November 4th, 2023 to celebrate the silver jubilee of Alumni Association English Language and Culture Groningen!
You are very welcome from 3pm at Café de Sleutel (Noorderhaven 72, Groningen). We’ll start our official program at 3.30pm with an informal lecture titled “The Call of the Wild? Why We Still Love the Brontes” by none other than Helen Wilcox. Then we’ll have a short break, followed by a panel discussion. This panel will consist of the esteemed honorary members of the association, Helen Wilcox, Hans Jansen and Monique Kroese. At approximately 6pm, it’s time for dinner. Afterwards (about 7.30pm), with bellies full of food, it’s time to test the brains with a classic activity, a pubquiz!
Although we’re happy to spend some of our savings on this event, we might need a small financial contribution from you to make the festivities happen. This contribution will be applied as follows:
- If you are a current member of the association and/or currently teaching at the English Department of the University of Groningen
- and you will stay for dinner, it’ll be € 10;
- and you will not stay for dinner, it’ll be free of charge.
- If you are not a member of the association and/or currently teaching at the English department, but you want to become a member, please sign up via this link and the conditions above will apply.
- If you are not a member and don’t want to become one, you are still very welcome to come,
- and if you’ll attend either in the afternoon or evening, it’ll be € 10;
- and if you’ll attend either in the afternoon or evening, including dinner, it’ll be € 15;
- and if you’ll attend the full day, including dinner, it’ll be € 25.
