Throwback Saturday: 15th of June, 2019
Brexit College Tour and Irish Music and Dance
- Location: Academy building – Bruinszaal
- Time: 14.00-17.00
The English Language and Literature alumni association organizes a fun program, with music and a College Tour about the Brexit. What does the Brexit mean for English language and literature and for students who want to study abroad? After the college tour it’s party time, with Irish band The Doggy Few, performing Irish and Scottish dance music.
The All Inclusive theme has a special meaning for the English Language and Literature alumni association: like real anglophiles, they focus on the UK. The brexit struggle almost resembles Shakespeare’s tragedy? What about Ireland?
No matter how the Brexit works out: all alumni are welcome to celebrate two parties: 405 years University of Groningen and the twentieth anniversary of the English Language and Literature alumni association.
How to apply? Do you want to take part in all festivities? Please go to this website: https://www.rug.nl/lustrum/party/throwback-saturday/ to buy your ticket (only € 10) and select our own party. Do you wish to attend our own party and skip the rest? Please send us an e-mail: firstname.lastname@example.org
We look forward to see you!
Shakespeare trip to Diever: 7th of September, 2019 (19.15 – 23.00)
Since last year’s visit to the open air Theater in Diever was such a success, we’ll organise another trip this year. This year’s play is Maat voor Maat (Measure for Measure). Not only will we see the play, but we’ll also attend the introduction by Dr Hans Jansen.
The alumni association will bring something to eat and drink and just like last year, we’ll try to organize some transport arrangements.
If you’d like to come along, use this link to sign up. Don’t wait too long: we only have a limited number of tickets!
